Library of Birmingham
Behind the Armed Forces parade the new Library of Birmingham is emerging from a building site. It is scheduled to open in September. Designed by a Dutch architect it was recently visited by the Dutch and UK Prime Ministers. I wonder what they thought. I will defer a final opinion until I can see it inside and out but thus far it seems to be making a strong play to be the ugliest new building in Britain.

I’m glad you like it. I looked up some details here and I think the inside will be very interesting. For my own taste though I think the outside is over the top. But it will be interesting to see when all the building works have been removed.
